Linda cruised Paris and southern France before the wedding, Jared at home with Paul. She, Alia, and nephew Chris sublimely and leisurely immersed themselves in the ambience. They all met up in Sisteron for the wedding.
On the planned 4-week after-wedding Euro wandering, they experienced wonderful moments, lying flat on a pass in the Alps drinking from a mountain spring like Linda did in her Blue Ridge Mountain childhood, kayaking down a French river beneath ancient castles and villages. But Linda’s drive for independence and not accounting to or for Paul activated a new planning style, ad lib and flexible to the point Paul wanted to tear out his hair. They split up, Linda and Alia continuing with her ex-sister-in-law on their own out of Switzerland to the west, Paul and Christopher staying in Geneva with his cousin’s family.
