Linda’s In The Body Persona
Adventurer, Traveler, Hippie – Music & The Dead; Food and Garb
Every page on Linda’s Timeline shines with photos and descriptions of her adventures. Though most were local, even internal, Linda traveled her world. Spirituality always remained a key motivator, but many of these adventures and travel also grew from her “Hippie” roots. This page touches upon three characteristics: Adventurer, Traveler, and Hippie.
One thing stands out. For the most part, Linda did not travel to sightsee. She traveled seeking connection, wild and natural, social and cultural. She traveled to teach, to share, and to receive. Her accommodations were bare bones and aligned with the cultures she visited.
That acknowledged, many of her trips within the U.S. were to see the Grateful Dead, her penultimate, improvisational, cosmic yet with blues and country roots rock and roll jam band. Quite a handful of descriptions, but so right on. Other than to wilderness and for relatives, she hit the American roadways to partake in musical and tribal experiences that included other great iconic bands of the day. As all who knew her witnessed, Linda wore her multicultural and New Age preferences on her sleeve, literally. Her colorful clothing and shoes always delighted the eye and conveyed to everyone her joyful spirit. This showed, too, in her diet and food choices. From the traditional foods of her upbringing, she grew deep back-to-the-land and hippie organic roots to become a great vegetarian cook.
All these expressed characteristics embodied attributes that help define the unique person that was Linda.
And what a person she was.
NOTE: Linda’s website intends to memorialize her life and her most elevated self. The Eulogy, the Timeline, and the Themes pages attempt to do that in the best way possible. Beyond what a Memorial traditionally addresses, aspects of Linda’s life become more biographical. Additional detail and reflections from her Life partner can enrich appreciation of what Linda accomplished yet may feel irrelevant or even controversial to others.
